Pillivuyt France - la Porcelaine depuis 1818

The quality control laboratory

Playing a part at all the stages, the laboratory is an essential part of the production line and ensures throughout the manufacturing process the respect of the Pillivuyt quality standard.

The quality control of the raw materials is carried out with each delivery (flow quality, colour, fusibility etc...)

• Samples of porcelain items are analysed weekly in order to test the porosity (ability to absorb water), the shrinkage (variation of dimensions after cooking), and the loss of weight while cooking

• Regularly, the laboratory does product testing at the end of the production in order to control dimensions, mechanical and thermal resistance, thickness of the glaze, porosity.

Our products are in conformity with the following standards :
- NF EN 1183 (June 1997) : thermal resistance
- NF EN 1184 (June 1997) : translucidity of the glazing
- NF EN 1388-1 (March 1998) : porosity
- NF EN 1388-1 (January 1996) : free of lead and cadmium
- NF EN 1388-2 (January 1996) : free of lead and cadmium
- XP ENV 12875-1 (September 1998) : dishwasher
- XP ENV 13258 (April 1999)

Regular controls are carried out either in-house or by the SFC (Société Française de Céramique).
